There are not so many hanging signs in Germany. I find it’s quite boring since I grew up in a country where shop signs was valued. However, if you encountered one the design quality is often excellent.

In the peaceful and quiet old town of Zurich, I encountered this sign. I was so surprised that I had to stand still looking up the sign for a moment… Why they named their shop “angst (meaning fear)”? Is it a joke? Is it a sort of wish that you don’t need to have any fear if you make a key here? Anyway it caught my attention.

Good point! But there isn’t any Herr or Frau Angst in the shop… 🙁
