Bucharest, People, Travel

Every time I moved, a silent stare followed me very closely. Eyes stared at every move I, the obvious visitor, made. I thought there must be a serious face checking on me. But when I moved my eyes towards the gaze very slowly, what I witnessed was a gentle smile like parents do when their baby just started to learn how to walk…

When I was in Bucarest, a lot of gentle ‘motherly’ smiles helped me in a sort of therapeutic way. Compare to this, Berlin is like strict parents who rarely praise their child. They love you very much, but are clumsy, often little twisted. I understand Berlin’s blunt and rough manner quite well now, and somewhat didn’t dislike it, but… if I can choose I prefer to have ‘Bucarest parents’.
